Centennial, CO, August 14, 2017
Over the last five years, Johnson Storage & Moving has given over $100,000 to the foundations for the University of Colorado, Boulder and Colorado State University in Fort Collins through their faculty relocation program. Johnson’s program gives back 5% of the total cost for all moves of faculty and laboratories for the year.
Johnson has relocated hundreds of faculty—from shorter term faculty members, such as visiting professors, to longer term academic professionals including everyone from professors to senior lecturers, research faculty (and their labs) to director-level staff members. As a preferred vendor since 2012 and as a century-old company, Johnson is efficient, cost effective, and protective of homes and belongings. When university staff and faculty have a limited relocation budget, this combination makes all the difference.
The faculty relocation give-back program is one of several ways that Johnson gives back to the communities it serves. Besides faculty relocation, Johnson also sponsors college and professional sports teams, as well as organizations such as Easterseals Colorado, through events like the ever-popular, upcoming Truck Pull held in Centennial, CO in September. The Truck Pull is a “tug of war” between teams of ten, and various trucks ranging from Johnson’s book mobile all the way up to Johnson’s 40,000 lb, 53’ semis. This year, the special guest star of the event will be Meredith Winnefeld, Miss Colorado USA 2017.
“Our roots are right here in Colorado. For over 100 years, our company has helped Colorado grow,” says Don Hindman, EVP of Johnson. “And we want to support that growth with programs that serve to help make our communities even stronger.”
Since 2012, the faculty relocation give-back program has gained such traction in Colorado that it is now being rolled out in other communities Johnson serves in Kansas, Wyoming, California, and Texas (Dallas).

The addition of Baron Worldwide in 2010 further streamlined international freight operations, ensuring no move is too large or small.
