Lori Tubaya, a 28-year veteran of Johnson Storage & Moving is expanding her role as Vice President of Accounting. Her role which encompasses Claims and Administration is now taking on Process Improvement. Jason Koch brings 20 years of experience in the moving and storage industry to his new position as the Vice President of Operations at Johnson Storage & Moving (JSM), headquartered in Centennial, CO. In his new role, he will have responsibility over the General Managers, Long Distance Dispatch and Safety, as well as Quality Assurance. Sharon Robinson’s 37 years of experience in the industry made her the perfect choice for General Manager of the second largest branch of JSM located in San Diego, CA.
Tubaya, known for her work with Jim Johnson (owner of Johnson Storage & Moving) for bringing the practice of flexible work arrangements into Johnson a decade ago, has been instrumental at continuing to improve Johnson’s quality scores and profitability. “Lori has done a tremendous job for nearly three decades,” says Don Hindman, EVP of Johnson. “We’re excited about her improving our processes and making us even more efficient in Accounting.”
While Koch was most recently with Hilldrup in Virginia, he started in the Johnson companies in the 90s as a Controller. Koch brings a unique set of talents and experience with a Masters in Accounting; overseeing accounting and operations departments; as the owner/operator of an over-the-road transportation and logistics company; and running the largest branch for local and long-distance operations at Hilldrup. “Jason will be a great fit back here at corporate given the breadth of his experience,” Hindman said.
Robinson came to Johnson 2.5 years ago from National Van Lines where she was Vice President of Sales. With 37 years of experience in the relocation industry moving people and businesses locally, intra/interstate, and internationally, it is no wonder she’s known a relocation expert. Robinson spent years on the East Coast before relocating to San Diego four years ago. “San Diego is our second largest market and that branch needs the kind of leadership and logistics experience that Sharon brings to the table,” said Hindman. “One of our biggest clients there is the military. With some 175,000 military personnel and their families in the area, it’s important to have someone like Sharon who understands the nuances of the global moves our Navy and Marines make.”
