CENTENNIAL, CO, AUGUST 31, 2022. Johnson Storage & Moving Co., LLC, headquartered here, announced today its acquisition of Apaca Moving & Storage’s Colorado Springs business effective August 29th. This marks Johnson’s third expansion in the Colorado Springs market in the past six months.
Johnson acquired selected assets of Apaca’s military moving & storage business in Springs, specializing in Families First for our valued service members. Apaca previously serviced all Colorado Springs military bases including NORAD, Peterson Air Force Base, Fort Carson, Space Command, and the Air Force Academy. Johnson’s existing moving & storage business also services these locations with white glove relocation services for our men and women in uniform.

Johnson’s is also acquiring Apaca’s 26,000 square foot moving & storage facility which it will operate as a satellite of its main location on Sinton Road. This marks Johnson’s third expansion in Colorado Springs in the past six months, increasing warehouse capacity to 105,000 square feet (from 40,000) and increasing crew and driver count by 10%. “Colorado Springs is an incredibly vibrant market and is expected to overtake the City of Denver as Colorado’s largest city by 2040. The acquisition of Apaca enhances our ability to leverage that growth for the benefit of our customers, employees, and of course, our country’s valued service members” said Hindman. Johnson’s Colorado Springs business has doubled in revenues in the past three years with the addition of last mile logistics, office moving, office furniture, and commercial storage lines to service this growing market.
