Centennial, CO, February 3, 2022. Johnson Storage & Moving Co., LLC, headquartered here, announced today its expansion plans for Colorado Springs, CO. Johnson’s has operated in the Colorado Springs market since its acquisition of American Wandell Moving & Storage in 1983. Of note, American Wandell (formerly Wandell & Lowe Transfer Co.) is the oldest moving & storage business in Colorado Springs, dating back to 1888 (photos below).
Johnson Colorado Springs is a full-service logistics/moving & storage business with 15 trucks operating out of a 40,000 square foot facility. Johnson’s business has expanded into hospitality, last-mile logistics, commercial warehousing, and project management necessitating additional acreage and square footage to accommodate growth.
Johnson’s recently acquired an additional 1.2 acres with a 6,000 square foot dock-high building adjacent to its existing facility along with a high cube 30,000 square foot building nearby. This nearly doubles Johnson’s footprint from 40,000 feet to 76,000 square feet to accommodate recent and future growth. “We’ve been fortunate to “ride the wave” of growth in Colorado Springs which we don’t see subsiding any time soon,” said Johnson’s President, Don Hindman. “Springs is growing rapidly and it’s predicted that it will overtake Denver as Colorado’s largest city within a decade.”
Johnson Storage & Moving is the oldest and largest logistics/moving & storage business in Colorado with 18 locations across the U.S. servicing more than 10,000 customers per year. Please contact Don Hindman at dhindman@johnson-united.com with any questions or concerns.
